In winter, the easiest way to transfer between Ruka and Kuusamo is to use the SkiBus service. In summer, there is the Karhunkierros Trail Bus and airport bus.

TRAFFIC AND TRAVEL
The fastest way to reach the Kuusamo region is to travel by air. Once the expansion of the Kuusamo Airport has been completed, there will be both charter flights and daily scheduled flights between Kuusamo and Helsinki.
The train-bus connections between Oulu and the Kuusamo region are being developed to better meet the needs of travellers. The car-carrier train service is a good option for those who don’t want to fly or rent a car.
